Food – The Most Important Habit of Human Beings

Food is an essential substance which the humans need for their survival. Humans can give up anything and can survive, but without food, there is no chance of survival. The consumption of food provides a nutritional support to the body, which helps to perform various tasks and activities in day to day life. The food consists of various nutrients like minerals, vitamins, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates etc. All these nutrients are highly essential for the production of energy, stimulation of growth and maintaining a good healthy life.

Most of the food items are generated from the plants. Some of the staple foods such as cereals, wheat, rice, maize are obtained from the plants. So, basically, plants are the main source of the food items and agriculture is considered as the main method to ensure the production of various food items. Apart from the plants, animals are also considered as the major sources of food for the non-vegetarians. Animals including sea-animals, animals residing in various forests, domestic animals include chicken, goat, cow, dog, and fishes etc are used as food items.

The animal eating habit varies from countries to countries. Most of the times, it has been observed that people choose food items according to tastes and their moods. On the basis of taste, food items can be classified into Sweet, sour, bitter, salty and chilly. According to the mood of the people, the taste of the food change. Mainly it has been observed that sweet food items are used as desserts whereas salty and chilly food items are used as starter.
